Easter at the campsite? Olešná in the Beskydy Mountains starts the season earlier this year
While most campsites are just getting ready for the main season at the beginning of April, Olešná car camp at the foot of Beskydy in the district Frýdek-Místek is going a little ahead this year. It sees Easter as an opportunity to revive the area and offer visitors more than just peace by the water. It is not about any exaggerated attractions, but a combination of a simple program, outdoor activities and a family atmosphere.
The Kempy-chaty.cz editorial team took a look at what exactly is going on in Olešná and whether it makes sense to go camping outside the classic summer peak.
Easter accommodation: space for caravans and motorhomes
Easter operations at Olešná this year do not mean the entire area will be open. The classic accommodation units will remain out of service and the camp will deliberately take a different path.
👉 Accommodation is only possible with your own caravan or motorhome.
👉 Tents are not part of the Easter service this time.
This year's Easter traffic is aimed specifically at caravanners and travelers with motorhomes.
"This year we want to try it for the first time, because for several years now people have been asking for accommodation here for Easter. This year we have prepared a program and you will be able to stay with your own by caravan or motorhome", says Ms. Bc. Tichá, marketing specialist at Autokemp Olešná.
Easter program: crafts, trail and trip around the dam
The Easter program at Olešná is designed mainly for families with children and combines creativity, outdoor exercise, and simple fun in the area.
👉 Easter workshops (Saturday 9–11 a.m.)
In the former bistro at the Olešná Aquapark, children will try decorating gingerbread cookies, painting and other crafts with animators.
👉 Easter Trail (from Friday)
The route has stations in and around the area, where children complete tasks, collect cards, and receive a small reward at the end. Suitable for smaller children as well.
👉 Excursion circuit around the dam (approx. 4,5 km)
A longer version of the trail for those who want to combine the program with a walk around Olešná. The route serves more as motivation to walk the entire area.
👉 Children's attractions (weather permitting)
In nice weather, the program will also include bouncy castles and other simple entertainment.
The program is designed more as an addition to the stay than the main attraction - the goal is to get the children outside and offer them an active weekend in a camp environment.

Camping Olešná through the eyes of visitors: peace, facilities and good location
Olešná Campsite is one of the areas that at first glance seems neatly and functionally. A big benefit is also location right next to the Olešná dam, which offers space for walks, trips and relaxation by the water.
Interestingly, the camp has long been praised by foreign visitors, especially from Poland and Slovakia. On foreign servers there are repeated mentions of peaceful environment, good availability of services and a relaxed atmosphere, which does not seem as hectic as in some larger areas.
